I have extensive experience in advanced website development, and embedded systems development.  Most recently I have been able to combine this engineering background with my passion for photography by developing numerous on-line retail sites for custom photo products and the OrderPicture.com website for photographers.

OrderPicture.com - Dallas, Texas

Independent Consultant/Director of Development – March 2001 to Present

Leading the Design, development and implementation of a complete e-commerce solution including client side software, complete web administration, database backed shopping cart and real-time credit card transactions for the MasterPhoto USA lab.  The site uses Visual Basic, PHP, MySQL, ASP, Javascript, and HTML to provide a system for photographers and their clients to review proofs on-line and order prints directly from MasterPhoto USA or their photographer.  The system provides photographers complete customization and remote management of their accounts.  As of Jan 2007, the site has processed hundreds of thousands of orders and is displaying over one million images per day.

 

Associated Press Photo Managers (APPM) – New York City

Web Editor/Developer – September 2001 to May 2002

The APPM is a new organization devoted to the photo managers.  As the first Web Editor Intern, I designed and implemented the new APPM website.  The website includes a members' only area, complete membership directory searches, password protection, on-line membership updates and numerous pages of information.  The site is written in ASP and uses Access as the database.

Software Engineer (Contractor) - July 1999 to July 2001

Participated in requirements analysis, software development, integration and testing for embedded systems.  Used Unix C, Microsoft Visual C, Microsoft Foundation Class (MFC) Library and MS Access (SQL) in the development of multiple products.  Contributed to maintenance of the internal website used for product information and field support.

 

Raytheon Systems Company/Texas Instruments - Dallas, Texas

Software Engineer - Special Programs Division, May 1997 to July 1999

Participated in system level analysis, integration and test, embedded software development, and database tool development for a large real-time embedded system containing complex control and algorithmic applications.  Used the Cleanroom design/implementation methodology and Ada, C, SQL and Visual Basic programming languages during product development.

 

Computer Data Systems, Inc. - Dallas, Texas

Systems Development Specialist, September 1996 to May 1997

Implemented two new applications using C as part of the Report Generation Software (RGS) system.  Maintained and added new features to existing applications using C.

 

G.A.C. Computer Services - Plano, Texas

Owner/Software Developer, August 1994 to May 1997

Designed, implemented, tested and maintained original applications written in C.  These programs range from utilities to complicated multi-player games.  Developed and maintained a World Wide Web (WWW) site and an electronic Bulletin Board System (BBS) to provide customer support.
